Pricemaster is now an approved Google Comparison Shopping Service (CSS) in the United Kingdom.

This gives eligible retailers another way to work with Google Shopping through Pricemaster, while retaining their existing Merchant Center account, product data and Google Ads setup. It is an important step in the development of the Pricemaster platform and the way we support retailers to compete, grow efficiently and make stronger commercial decisions.

What is a Comparison Shopping Service?

In the UK and across other CSS programme countries, retailers can choose which Comparison Shopping Service represents them for Google Shopping. Google Shopping is one option; approved third-party CSSs, such as Pricemaster, are another.

The CSS does not replace the retailer's store, product feed or commercial strategy. It provides the route through which the retailer is represented in Google Shopping.

For a retailer already using Merchant Center and Google Ads, the switch can be made using the existing accounts. Product data, campaign history and day-to-day account ownership stay with the retailer.

What does this mean for Pricemaster customers?

For eligible customers, joining Pricemaster CSS creates a more direct relationship between the shopping activity they already run and the wider Pricemaster platform.

It means retailers can choose to be represented through a CSS that understands the commercial context behind a product: market position and competitor availability, pricing rules, stock and margin requirements.

That matters because Google Shopping performance is rarely only an advertising question. A product can have strong demand and still underperform if its visible price, availability or proposition is not competitive enough for the market it is entering.

Pricemaster helps retailers make sense of that commercial context. CSS representation gives us another foundation on which to support smarter, more joined-up Shopping activity over time.

Broader Google Shopping eligibility

Pricemaster CSS is now enabled for Shopping activity beyond general Search, including eligible placements across the Shopping tab, Google Images, YouTube, Display remarketing and Performance Max surfaces.

Availability on each surface will still depend on Google policy, product eligibility, campaign settings and the individual retailer's account setup. Approval does not guarantee impressions, clicks or sales. It does mean that Pricemaster customers who choose to work through our CSS have access to a broader set of eligible Shopping opportunities.

A controlled, retailer-first switch

Joining a CSS should not mean handing over control.

Retailers remain responsible for their own products, website, product data, Google Ads account and commercial decisions. They can continue using the Merchant Center and Google Ads accounts they already know. Our role is to provide the CSS representation and, where appropriate, help bring more useful commercial insight around the activity.

We are starting carefully, with a small number of existing retailers moving across one at a time. That lets us validate product eligibility, campaign continuity and reporting before expanding the programme more widely.

Where Pricemaster is heading

This approval is not a finished product announcement. It is a meaningful step towards a more connected way of supporting retailers in Google Shopping.

Our focus remains the same: help retailers protect margin, understand their market and make better product-level decisions. Over time, we see an opportunity to bring market intelligence, product data and Shopping activity closer together, so teams can make faster and more informed decisions without losing commercial control.

We will share more as that work develops. For now, approved CSS status gives Pricemaster customers a new option for how they are represented in Google Shopping, alongside the pricing and market intelligence they already use to compete.
